Birmingham City University Fine Art B.A (Hons)

DEGREE SHOW 2008

This exhibition is the highlight of the Fine Art course at Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, showcasing the emerging talent of its graduating students.
The show itself is as diverse as the artists involved, including everything from the traditional, to cutting edge contemporary practice. It is a chance to see how the 3 years of hard work, research and experimentation have come together to help form their evolving individual styles.
The exhibition is at the School of Art, Margaret Street, and opens on the Saturday 14th June in conjunction with the New Generation Arts Festival.  
Art works will be on sale throughout the show, and an accompanying catalogue will also be available.

PROGRESS
An exhibition of work from 30 second year BIAD Fine Art students.

This exhibition highlights the current, but ever-evolving artwork of some of the second year students at Birmingham Institute of Art & Design, Margaret Street. It includes a wide range of mediums and practices, from contemporary painting and sculpture, to video, installation, photography and performance. It is organised and curated by some of the same Fine Art students, and will mark the important half-way point of these artists' degrees.

The exhibition utilises the space at the Works Gallery, in Birmingham City Centre, and runs from Tuesday 29th April until Thursday 1st May 2008. The Private View will be held on the Tuesday night, 6-8pm, complete with free drinks and snacks. During the three days the gallery will be open 11am - 5pm, and is open to the public.

The Works Gallery can be found on the Third Floor of the Jubilee Works, 130 Pershore Street, Birmingham (B5 6ND), and a short walk from Chinatown and the Markets or Digbeth. (Entry is via a telecom system, so please press the "Gallery" button, and we'll buzz you in. Lift to the left, stairs to the right)
